BIO
Stephanie French is a Canadian singer-songwriter and poet influenced by artists such as Erykah Badu, and Jill Scott. Both musically and poetically she touches on personal experiences, her love for people, the black community and God.
Originally from the province of Alberta, Stephanie is currently located in the Greater Toronto Area. Teaching piano, vocals, guitar and general music, Stephanie cateres her educational programs to fit her students needs. Her goal is to empower students by helping them to find their voice and use music as a form of self expression.
As a solo artist, Stephanie has had the honour of performing for Toronto’s Black Diamond Ball in 2022 and the Alberta Legislative Assembly’s 2021 Black History Month Celebration. Hear her EP, Diary of Stephanie and her two singles In Tune and He Is streaming now on all platforms. She can also be heard on a variety of Canadian-based projects such as the fan favourite collaboration Black Everyday by Arlo Maverick, and Vinny On One’s Here. In addition to music, Stephanie is also a self-published author. Her first poetry book titled i am explores blackness, womanhood and the complexities that come with having a relationship with God.
